    Helping children choose friends

This is a post in progress, inspired about a story I was reading regarding how important it is to surround yourself with others who uplift you and challenge you to be the best person you can be. (Similar concept to how the 5 people you spend the most time with are fundamentally who you become like) Some ideas below to consider as a discussion topic when your children are old enough to reflect on this. Who are the people you feel good around? Who are you able to relax and be yourself with? What do those people have in common? Who makes you laugh the most? Ultimately what we are…

    Random acts of kindness

In this animated short, we are reminded that we can pass on our stress and bad moods to the people we encounter but, just as easily, we can choose to treat others with grace…

    Mental Health Awareness

“Monsters dont sleep under your bed… they sleep inside your head” – Unknown There are so many different people in this world… People who think and react completely differently to the same situation. What causes us to react so differently? Is it the assumptions we decide to believe? Is it the way we are brought up? Our insecurities? Previous experiences? Reality and perspective seem to mean something different for everyone. I received a lot of mixed reactions from a post I wrote a few years ago about how depressed I was feeling and how people can be more supportive. The Background I had been fighting with a close friend for…
