    Coronavirus diary

March 2020 I’ve been watching the numbers. Interesting how it went from about 5000 cases a day for a few days.. then 10 000… then suddenly it jumped to 20 000 every 24 hrs. UK is currently sitting on 5 018 cases. Yesterday the country went into lockdown. Everyone who can, is now working from home. Schools are closed. People are panic buying. There is a lot of anxiety. I’m not feeling panicky or anxious, but the seriousness of it is really starting to sink in. We’ve basically been in isolation for two weeks. Working from home with Russ while looking after Lily has its ups and downs. It is…

    Lily’s first Easter egg hunt

Such a collection of special moments for Easter 2020 as I set out cleaning up the garden to create an easter egg hunt for Lily. I ordered these super cute easter garden signs to make finding the eggs easier (she is only 2.5 years), mowed the lawn, painstakingly picked out all the weeds on the lawn (blisters for my efforts), and cut away a ton of growth at the back to try and make a path all the way around. Shopping at Bicester Village

I didn’t really know what to expect when the hubby suggested we go to Bicester Village, but I can definitely say it surpassed any expectations I had for it. For one, there are fairy lights and lanterns everywhere! Any place with fairy lights wins my vote instantly 🙂 We arrived about an hour before sunset, the shopping centre was buzzing with people from young school kids, students, couples and families making their way around. It is huge. There are brand stores on either side of you as you walk along the paved streets with Chinese lanterns and lights overhead. Shop after shop with recognisable names and after taking a peak…

    Virginia Water Lakes

Stunning family friendly walk along the Virginia Water Lake. I am awed by the natural beauty every time I visit. Positioned within Windsor Great Park, there is so much to explore. You can walk all the way to Windsor Castle discovering Roman Ruins, Waterfalls, Totem poles, Savill Gardens and loads more.

    Paddington Station

There is something really magnificent about Paddington Station 🚊 After arriving on the fast train from Slough I took a few minutes to stand in the middle and just marvel at the Victorian architecture.  As someone who grew up in South Africa with minimal experience using trains, I was initially quite nervous to go for a job interview in London and worried I would get lost on my way! Turns out I had nothing to worry about and it is actually really easy making your way around. After two trips into London I now feel like a pro 😎
