Staying Fit

Let’s be real – Between packing lunch boxes, answering 347 toddler questions before 8am, and keeping small humans alive, “self-care” feels like a myth told to us in prenatal class.

But… I’ve recently hit 40 and I need to get my Health & Fitness back.

Here’s the secret: I stopped trying to “work out” like I used to before kids. Now I move how and when I can. A quick 10-minute stretch session while the baby naps. A silly dance-off in the lounge with the kids. Some deep breathing (mostly so I don’t scream when someone spills cereal again). It all counts. And honestly? It’s changed everything. My energy, my mood, and my patience levels (in a good way!)

Everyone exercises in their own way, but me, I am not a runner. I prefer the lazy girl exercise vibe where you lie down on the floow !! Which brings me to my next recommendation – This magical yoga mat from Amazon.

👉 Amazon Basics Extra Thick Yoga Mat

No jokes – this baby is double thick. That means:

  • No more elbow bruises from failed planks
  • No more sore chest after lying flat pretending I’m meditating (read: hiding)
  • No more excuses

It comes with a carry strap too, so if I ever do make it to a yoga class (or more realistically, the garage), I’m ready.

And yes, that is an affiliate link, so if you buy one, I earn a few cents. Win-win!

3 Quick Tips to Sneak in Mom Workouts:

  1. Nap-time yoga – even if it’s just lying still in silence for 5 mins.
  2. Laundry squats – grab and fold with extra glutes.
  3. Baby bench press – they love it. Your arms will too.
  4. Laundry Lunges – All the way to the kid’s bedrooms

You don’t need to “get your body back.” You need to feel like you again. And sometimes, that starts with a soft surface and 5 quiet minutes.

If you want to get a little more serious, you’re going to need these awesome dumbbell weights.

I have a surprise for you soon, my stunning friend Aster is going to be giving us exclusive exercise tips for busy moms. Stay tuned.
